Hi my name is Felix today I have made a ice cream on google draw.

I also did one in real life and I think it was better, sorry you did no't get to it but it was good.
we had to do alliteration so the  name of my ice cream is Frozen flake vanilla.                                           If you had to do a alliteration for your ice cream what would  it be?

I will see you soon on my next blog.

Google Tricks

HERE ARE SOME GOOGLE TRICKS THAT MY MUM SHOWED ME AND NOW I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THEM WITH YOU. I TRIED THESE ON A COMPUTER AND SMART PHONE BUT SOME MIGHT NOT WORK ON SOME PHONES. HAVE YOUR VOLUME TURNED ON TO GET THE FULL EFFECTS šŸ˜ƒ

Do a barrel roll
This is one of the most well known tricks. Go to Google and type do a barrel roll in the search box. The page will roll around a couple of times.

Askew
Search for Askew on Google and the page will tilt to the side.
Askew means 'not straight'

Google Gravity

Type in Google Gravity on the home page then click on the I’m feeling lucky button on your computer. After a few seconds, everything will fall down. Google will still work but finding the menus might be a bit hard.
A Chrome Experiment created by Hi-Res

Thanos

If you like Marvel movies then you might like this trick. Search for Thanos on Google and go to the biography on the right-hand side of the page or the top of the screen if you are using a smart phone.
Here you can see the icon in the biography (profile) for Thanos
Now, click on the gauntlet (the yellow hand icon) and watch parts of the page disappear!

Zerg rush

When you type zerg rush in Google, the letter ‘o’ drops from the top and the right of the page and slowly eats up the whole page. You can click on the ‘o’ symbols a few times to try and destroy them.
Tip: If it doesn’t work, type zerg rush into the search bar and then click on the I’m feeling lucky button.

Google Sky

You can fly through space using Google Sky. You can see stars, constellations, galaxies, planets and even our moon.
Constellations are groups of stars that form a pattern or picture

Bonus Hidden Google Trick [Friends TV show]

If you like this TV show (like my mum does) you might like to try this trick.
Search a main character name with the word ‘friends’. For example, you can search for “Joey Friends” or “Ross Friends” and it will show an icon for each in the biography. Each icon has a special feature. On a smart phone, you will be able to spot it easily. You can also try “Chandler friends” “Phoebe friends” and “Monica friends”.
Tip: If you search “Ross friends” and click on the icon a few times, watch what happens šŸ˜€

I did think that these tricks were cool and you should have a go! Maybe you can search for others and tell me your favourites. Have fun šŸ˜Š

Invisible Ink

Today I tried making invisible ink out of lemon juice. If you would like to give this a go, keep reading šŸ˜Š

You will need:

A lemon
Water
Spoon
Small bowl
Cotton bud/tooth pick
Paper
Candle* (I used a tea light candle but you could also use a lamp, light bulb or UV light if you have one)

*Ask an adult to help you with this

Method

1. Squeeze some lemon juice into the bowl and add a few drops of water. Mix the water and lemon juice with the spoon.
A few drops of water is about the tip of a teaspoon

2.Lightly dip the cotton bud or tooth pick into the mixture and write a message onto the paper.
Use a cotton bud for thick lines

Use a tooth pick for thin lines
3.Wait for the juice to dry so it becomes completely invisible. Thinner, lighter lines will dry faster.

4.When you are ready to uncover your secret message, heat the paper by holding it above the candle or close to a warm light bulb or lamp. If you are using heat be very careful - ask an adult to do this part with you.
How it looks after being held over the candle

How does it work?
Lemon juice is an organic substance that oxidizes and turns brown when heated. Diluting the lemon juice in water makes it very hard to notice when you apply it the paper, no one will be aware of its presence until it is heated and the secret message is revealed. Other substances which work in the same way include orange juice, honey, milk, onion juice, vinegar and wine. Invisible ink can also be made using chemical reactions or by viewing certain liquids under ultraviolet (UV) light.

Tips:

  • You will need to hold the paper over the heat for 3 - 5 seconds or so before the writing or image appears -be careful not to hold it in one spot too long or it might burn!
  • To make it easier to remember where you wrote, you can use lined paper (like refill paper)

I used the cotton bud to draw shapes and the toothpick for writing words. I also used white paper but I wonder if it would work the same way with different coloured paper. You could also try making your own map like I did.
